Next year we need new seeds so I let several plants get flowers and seeds freely.
The roots will be smaler then the roots of the plants from which I took de flowers and de middel shoots of the plant.

After four monthes I have at last time to show that the Tororoaoi plants grow very well this year .
Although we had not much rain and no typhoons at all; which is very
unusual.The typhoon season is not yet over so you never know....!

Two days ago I planted together with a member of the 'Uemai Yanagibata Kaigi'(the Mitsumata-field coservation group in Otado,Yusuhara) Tororoaoi seeds.
The extract(liquit) of the roots of this plant is the formation agent ('neri') neccesary for making Washi.
The roots will be harvested late autumn.

Tomorrow the Eco-plaza in Minatoku will open;
this year I will do there several papermaking workshops,
I planted a mitsumata plant grown in Yusuhara in the front garden near the biotop garden

About two weeks ago we picked tea, enough for our own use and guests
at Kamikoya for a year.
After picking the tealeaves, you have to steam-roast the leaves.
The best firewood for this are the kozo and mitsumata branches,
left over after the bark has been peeled off and dried

This is the new irori-table made of Japanese Ceder and Cypress, Keyakii and Sakura wood.
I painted it with an homemade paint (Lineseed oil mixed with Iron-oxidide).
The roasted vegetables, trout and some local beaf will be delicious,
With this beautifull vieuw, good food and the smell of charcoal ,this countryside experience is not so bad at all.
